Process
Once my package arrived, I started to try to figure out what design I wanted to do. I’ve never done shorts before and with a theme of Mental Health, it took a bit for me to settle on a design.
The design I decided on was from Design Bundles, but I did make some changes to it. The original design used a different butterfly than the one I chose. I simply replaced the original butterfly with the one I wanted.

I also knew I wanted to use the butterflies and the heart from the design on the bucket hat, so that way they would be a “matching set”. I cut extra butterflies and hearts when I sent the material to be cut.
For the butterflies I used WALAkut Pink Glitter Marble HTV. This HTV is so pretty and I knew it would look great for the butterflies. For the hearts I used Siser Sprakle in Silver Sword and for the saying I used ThermoFlex Plus in Lavender.

I used my Siser Juliet and the Leonardo Design Studio software to modify and cut my designs. Once I had my designs cut and weeded, I positioned them where I wanted on the shorts and pressed. I did the same for the hat.

I love the way they turned out! When all was said and done I showed my hubby the shorts and he said….. grow TROUGH what you go TROUGH…. I looked at it again and had to shake my head. The file had a spelling error….ugh. I didn’t even notice (which is really bad for me since I edit documents in my full time job). It should be “grow THROUGH what you go THROUGH”, needless to say, my project was already complete. But I did reach out to Design Bundles to let them know and the file has since been corrected.
And from now on I will definitely look more closely at the files I’m using, especially since I know better…..hahaha
